I'm gonna try to post some pictures of the expansion. Here goes: The first one is me, Smokey, and Justin rollin' out some paint (I'm the short one). The second is Justin and the new racks concrete screwed in (pain in the ...). The third is Winrow trying to electricute himself. Finally, the first batch going through. Thanks again everybody for helping me out. You boards are on the way, I swear.
I read this quote the other day that basically says that the difference between a warrior and a regular man is that a warrior takes everything in life as a challenge, and a regular man sees everything as either a curse or a blessing. It's pretty deep. I'll tell you just how regular I am. The other day, Thursday I think, was the best surf I've had in over a year. It wasn't too big in the morning, but I had a brand new board, it was offshore, 67 degree water, I was STOKED!! I really liked my new board, Wizard with a big hip and a diamond tail, superlight Futures medium flex EA'S, it was working. I actually smacked some lips. So I surfed for almost 2 hours, went and did 4 hours of work and went back out for another session. As I'm leaning down to wax up, my back slipped out. I've been going to Massage Therapy twice a week and seeing my chiropractor once for my wreck. And, I knew that I'd get to go to the Massage directly from the water, so I paddled out for an even better session, complete with an arm-dragging, pig-dogged, head dip. The back felt capital until I hit the beach. Well, cursing my back I went to the Massage knowing that Tony Cochran can fix anything. (I've been taking Nicole to him on occasion, and she's hooked!) I felt so good that I stopped by my Little Champ for a coke and a scratch off. I don't condone gambling, kids, but sometimes I feel lucky. So I win $50!!!!Then, I take the money minus enough for a second ticket (usually a mistake) and hit $100!!!! Of course, I'm thanking my "lucky stars" and plan on taking Nicole out for some crappy Chinese food. Then, my fortune says "Among the lucky, you are the Chosen One". Nicole was so chapped as I GLOATED in my beautiful fortune, and even stuck it in my hat for anyone to read. "You're a dork!" To finish this parable off, I try my luck the next day, on a $5 ticket,.................NOTHING!!!! Must be a curse or something!!
Man, I've been so busy getting the new glassing factory open. For the last 2 years I've been cramped up in this 500 s.f. unit, I've got a sweet shaping room and the sanding room is tight, minus a new fan, but the glassing is tight. I could put 2 sets of racks just right for hot coats, but it's not enough. The unit next to me went up for rent, and I grabbed it up. I've been waiting so long to hook up a real deal glassing room. I got 4 sets of metal racks welded up, put in 30 boards worth of drying racks, surround sound, air lines, 8' strip lights centered between each set of racks, new sand, rolling racks for the cloth, all the bells and whistles. It took me about a week total, and I had random teamers dropping by to help out. Gotta thank Justin, Smokey, Nicole, Tommy, and everybody who helped out. I can finally get back to shaping tomorrow. I'll post some pictures of it soon.
